In short: we collect your email address so we can tell you when PlotVerify opens. We do not sell it, we do not share it for marketing, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing hello@plotverify.com.
1. Who we are
PlotVerify ("we", "us") provides independent land verification services for people buying property in Uganda. We are based in Toronto, Canada. For any question about this policy or your personal information, contact us at hello@plotverify.com.
2. What we collect
At this stage PlotVerify is pre-launch, and the only information we collect through this website is:
- Your email address, when you join the early access list.
- Any information you choose to send us if you contact us by email or WhatsApp.
- Basic technical data your browser sends automatically, such as approximate location and device type, used only to understand how many people visit the site.
We do not ask for and do not want financial details, identity documents or land documents through this website.
3. Why we use it
- To notify you when PlotVerify opens for bookings.
- To send occasional updates about our launch. Nothing else.
- To reply to you if you contact us.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling.
4. Legal basis
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, our legal basis for processing your email address is your consent, given when you submit the form. You may withdraw that consent at any time. Where Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) applies, we rely on your consent in the same way.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. We share it only with service providers who help us operate, such as our website host and email delivery provider, and only to the extent needed to provide that service. Those providers are bound to protect it.
We may disclose information where we are legally required to do so.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you ask us to remove it, or until we close the early access list and it is no longer needed, whichever comes first.
7. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- tell you what information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your information
- stop sending you messages
Email hello@plotverify.com and we will action it. If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with our response, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. In Canada, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted over the internet.
9. Cookies
This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Any cookies present are strictly necessary for the site to function.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting people on our early access list will be notified by email.
